SOWC Marketing Operations And Social Media Intern

The School Of Wildlife Conservation is seeking to recruit a Marketing Operations and Social Media Intern to support the School's digital marketing efforts as well as some day to day operations.

About The Internship

SOWC Marketing Operations and Social Media Intern will be responsible for managing the SOWC's social media accounts, website and other design related tasks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media, has excellent communication skills, is a graphics designer and is willing to learn and grow in the marketing field.

Responsibilities

Social Media Support

  • Manage the SOWC's social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and ensure that all posts are engaging and effective.
  • Manage and schedule content across social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, etc.) while ensuring brand consistency.
  • Draft engaging posts, captions, newsletters, and short-form articles tailored to target audiences.
  • Capture and edit photos/videos from departmental activities, events, or field projects.
  • Assist in planning and executing digital campaigns to promote programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Conduct trend research and competitor analysis to inform creative strategies.
  • Monitor audience engagement, respond to comments/messages, and help grow online communities.
  • Track and report on social media analytics, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Support cross-departmental teams with promotional materials and event marketing needs.
  • Contribute fresh ideas and creative storytelling approaches to strengthen the department's digital presence.

Requirements

  • Currently studying at ALU.
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and website content management systems (CMS) especially WordPress.
  • Creativity and an eye for design, with familiarity in Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools.
  • Intermediate or advanced level expertise in Google Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms, analytics, and trends.
  • Familiarity with social media and website analytics tools.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
