Senior Director of Growth Marketing

The role of Senior Director of Growth Marketing involves:

  • Develop and execute a growth marketing strategy that integrates marketing initiatives, innovative promotions, conversion optimization, and customer experience enhancements to drive business results.
  • Leverage our tech stack to its full potential, identifying opportunities to automate, optimize, and scale growth initiatives.
  • Lead new growth projects by presenting proposals to Exco that identify revenue impact, implications, and resources.
  • Responsible for the Marketing Technology budget.
  • Own the customer acquisition, retention, and lifecycle marketing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Lead and mentor a team of growth marketers, performance media managers, and retention specialists.
  • Collaborate with Product on conversion rate optimization (CRO) and other departments including Data, Engineering, Customer Service, Merchandising, Ops, Integrated Marketing, and Creative teams to drive scalable growth initiatives.

Performance Marketing & Acquisition:

  • Oversee the performance and strategy of all paid acquisition channels—including PPC, paid social, display/video, and affiliate marketing—by ensuring accountability and alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive efficiency in customer acquisition, maximizing ROI and customer LTV while maintaining a competitive CPA.

Retention & Lifecycle Marketing:

  • Drive retention and loyalty programs through CRM, email, and SMS.
  • Develop personalized customer journeys that improve repeat purchase rates and customer lifetime value (CLV).
  • Leverage customer insights, segmentation, and predictive analytics to optimize lifecycle marketing.

Data & Analytics:

  • Own growth KPIs, including new customer acquisition, CAC, repurchase rate, order frequency, and LTV.
  • Implement and improve attribution models and incrementality methodologies to measure marketing performance accurately.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine targeting strategies and enhance marketing performance.
  • Partner with the Data & Analytics team to build dashboards, reporting frameworks that drive decision-making and the overall marketing data stack.

Who you are:

  • 10+ years of experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, or digital marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of driving demand and significant revenue growth in an eCommerce or direct-to-consumer (DTC) environment.
  • Expertise in paid media platforms (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, etc.), SEO, affiliate marketing, and CRM strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Looker, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
  • Experience managing multi-million dollar marketing budgets with a focus on ROI and efficiency.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and data-driven experimentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across departments.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven marketing tools, automation, and customer segmentation strategies.
  • Prior experience in the outdoor industry is an asset.
