The role is to be a Senior Software Developer, Tech Lead you'll be a key technical leader within an agile team, focusing on the operational health and resilience of our e-commerce platform. You'll drive the operational side of the storefront and backend systems, being a key pillar of a team of both front-end and back-end developers to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You will have the opportunity to take full ownership of the performance and resilience of multiple products, becoming an authority on the business processes and value they create. You will experience many facets of the world of ecommerce web development with a domain and event driven architecture that is scalable and reactive, working with live data all deployed on the cloud.

What you will do:

  • Senior member of a team of developers, serving as a key pillar for your squad and ensuring the operational excellence of the storefront and its backend systems.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex, multi-system issues and production incidents, conducting thorough root cause analysis to design durable, preventative solutions.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business goals and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with other Leads, Senior Software Developers and Engineering Managers from other teams to solve systemic issues and improve overall system health.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying patterns that reveal architectural risks and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Ensure product resilience by leading the automation of tests and improving CI/CD processes.
  • Contribute as a key player in code reviews, documentation, and planning.
  • Demonstrate strong communication by articulating complex ideas to diverse audiences and anticipating communication breakdowns to proactively resolve them.

Who you are:

  • 6+ years of professional experience with modern programming languages, preferably in e-commerce (e.g., React, Python, NodeJS). We're looking at either a strong background in frontend development with some experience with backend development or the other way around.
  • 4+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Deep understanding of web analytics, accessibility and SEO.
  • In-depth knowledge of software design patterns and architectural patterns like layered or event-driven architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior developers and lead technical discussions.
