Job Title: It Operations Engineer

We are looking for an IT Operations Engineer who will support our team in Leipzig (with hybrid working option and regular deployments in the warehouse).
As an IT Operations Engineer, you will ensure a stable, secure, and efficient IT operation β from the workplace to the infrastructure. You will work hands-on in the basic administration, coordinate external service partners, and ensure through service delivery engineering that the services of our partners meet our standards. Additionally, you will support hardware issues in our warehouse (e.g., scanners, label printers, WLAN, servers).
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure that IT operations run smoothly β including user and device management, software distribution, patch and asset management, backups, and troubleshooting (Windows/Linux)
- Manage external service partners through requirement management, on-/offboarding, SLA monitoring, quality assurance, acceptance, and escalation management
- Develop standards, runbooks and checklists for service delivery and continuously improve documentation, processes and interfaces
- Support warehouse IT in the setup and maintenance of scanners, label printers, thin clients, and WLAN/network; perform on-site error analysis and device inventories
- Monitor systems, resolve disruptions, and accompany problem and change management according to ITIL principles
- Automate recurring tasks with PowerShell or Bash, maintain deployments/CI-CD and support identity- & endpoint-management (AD, Azure AD/Entra, M365, Intune/Jamf) including security by default (hardening, patching, compliance)
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in IT administration, IT operations, or system technology with solid foundations and a hands-on mentality
- Good knowledge of Windows/Linux administration, Active Directory/Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and first experiences with AI
- Network basics knowledge (TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP/DNS, VPN, WLAN, firewalls) and experience in working with external service providers (SLA, quality, acceptance)
- Practical hardware skills, ideally in a warehouse/production environment (scanners, label printers, access points)
- Routine in handling ticketing, documentation, and monitoring tools as well as scripting skills (PowerShell or Bash)
- Willingness for occasional on-site deployments in the warehouse, occasional on-call duty, and short trips between locations; language skills: German at least B2, English at least B1/B2
