Aleut Federal is seeking a Senior Service Desk Technician for a hybrid role in Colorado Springs, CO or Reston, VA. The position supports remote and on-site users through technical assistance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware, software, and system applications. Duties include inventory management, device installation/configuration, system documentation, and routine admin tasks such as account management and system maintenance. Requires 8+ years' help desk/PC support experience, knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra, cloud technologies, and client/server applications, with strong communication and customer service skills. Preferred: advanced technical education, industry certifications, and experience configuring network devices and managing inventories.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports day-to-day customer support and troubleshooting activities; resolves technical issues reported by remote and on-site users.
  • Maintains and operates system applications on user computers.
  • Maintains all hardware and software inventories and assets as a daily, critical responsibility.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains devices in support of contract requirements.
  • Maintains system documentation.
  • Establishes and manages support related project timelines and short-term goals.
  • Provides technical assistance, training, and hands-on help for users of systems in compliance with project-related requirements and quality control plans.
  • Recommends future desktop requirements and system enhancements.
  • Performs routine system administrative functions including user file transfers, disk management, addition/deletion of user accounts, installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least eight (8) years of Help desk support, including PC support, diagnostic/troubleshooting/repair experience, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of client/server applications and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra.
  • Familiarity with system documentation standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Saas, Paas and Iaas technologies and applications (Cloud operations).
  • Experience with remote communications operations involving a variety of protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively across the organization with management, other team members, and customers.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate activities, status updates, outage notifications and schedule information with clients, other IT personnel, and other team members.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening.

Preferred:

  • Advanced education in computer science, management information systems, or Mathematics.
  • Current IT or vendor specific certifications (CompTia, Microsoft, FortiNet, Cisco, Azure, etc)
  • Knowledge of configuring network devices like routers, switched, and wireless access points, preferably Fortinet.
  • Inventory control experience.

Locations: This is a hybrid position where the work will be performed both remotely and onsite according to business needs. The work can be fulfilled from either Colorado Springs, CO or Reston, VA.

Rate: $110K - $125K (final rate based on experience and location)
