Account Manager

Alera Group is looking for a Account Manager. We are seeking highly motivated colleagues who bring experience and enthusiasm to our team, joining us may be the perfect fit for you!

Responsibilities

  • Advise and educate clients on group markets (small/large), funding mechanisms (fully insured, self-insured, captives), and ancillary lines
  • Interpret medical loss ratios (MLR) for experience-rated groups; provide renewal and plan recommendations
  • Lead client engagement: negotiations with carriers, renewals, employee education meetings, and board/CEO/HR presentations
  • Develop multi-year planning strategies, facilitate wellness programs, and support compliance requirements (ACA, SPDs, notices)
  • Coordinate with carriers, underwriters, TPAs, and internal teams for enrollment, site builds, and client servicing
  • Support clients during audits (DOL, CMS), maintain strong decision-maker relationships, and manage escalated service inquiries
  • Generate referrals, leads, and sales opportunities while ensuring proactive client communication and satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in group markets, funding models, ancillary lines, compliance regulations, and Medicare (A, B, D)
  • Skilled in carrier negotiations, client education, and strategic planning
  • Strong presentation ability for executives, boards, and large groups (in-person or virtual)
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with clients, coworkers, and vendors
  • Strong organizational, time management, and detail orientation with ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
  • Comfortable working in hybrid environments; able to travel for client needs
  • Deadline-driven with a proactive, professional approach to problem-solving and client service

Additional Information

This job requires presence in the office on a hybrid schedule as agreed with the manager.
