This role is part of Alcon's Manufacturing function, a team that designs, produces and delivers innovative eyecare products to more than 140 countries through operational excellence and efficiency. The Technician III, Molding & Tooling Production Operations, is primarily responsible for managing complex tasks related to operating molding tools and equipment, performing quality inspections, and resolving issues. You will be expected to apply expert technical skills, advanced problem-solving abilities, and strong leadership to ensure seamless operations and maintain high production standards.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Manage highly complex tasks related to operating molding tools and equipment and/or manufacturing machine tools and fixtures with minimal supervision
  • Tooling Set Up, Mold Base Maintenance & Inventory
  • Carry out full mold base maintenance:
  • Disassemble mold base components.
  • Polish and clean mold cavities, inserts, and plates.
  • Reassemble mold base with proper alignment, including hot runner wiring and Diagnostic setup.
  • Exchange and install mold bases on Injection Molding Machines (IJM)
  • Maintain and update tooling inventory.
  • Support Goods Receipt (GR) processes and related documentation.
  • Perform detailed quality inspections using gauges and fixtures, and monitor quality statistically to ensure compliance with standards
  • Follow work instructions and Good Manufacturing Practice/Good Documentation Practice (GMP/GDP) requirements, handle materials, and operate automated equipment
  • Resolve complex issues as they arise
  • Lead mold changes and collaborate with various departments
  • Troubleshoot medical device molds
  • Conduct optical tool inspection, assembly, set-up, targeting, line clearance, mechanical and negative checks, changeover, and operate the solvent supply and disposal system for production and research
  • Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training

What You'll Bring To Alcon:

  • Min Diploma in Engineering field with 3 years of working experience or NITEC in any Engineering field with min 5-6 years of relevant working experience in Manufacturing industry in a similar role
  • Direct experience in Mold & Tool will be highly advantageous
