The HR team at Alcon is seeking six summer interns. Interns will work on key HR projects in one of two Centers of Excellence (COE): Global Talent Acquisition (GTA) & Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), or Culture Capabilities & Talent (CC&T).

Key Projects

CC&T:

  • We help people see brilliantly by aligning the associate experience with The Alcon Blueprint, building future-ready teams, and integrating talent strategies that grow a diverse pipeline of leadership. Our work spans culture, capability, and talent ensuring that Alcon's people practices are as innovative and impactful as the products we deliver.
  • Project 1: Drive implementation of Speed and Accountability Culture Initiatives. Alcon has embarked on an ambitious journey to increase speed and accountability through cultural change. We recently introduced three culture initiatives: Coach to Empower, Meet with Intent, and Decide with Clarity. The intern will have the opportunity to help us to embed these tools throughout the organization. Deliverables include assessing the effectiveness of the change management plan, developing creative ways to drive associate adoption, interacting with key stakeholders to understand their needs to ensure.
  • Project 2: Ensure the adoption and understanding of new performance initiatives. Alcon is updating their performance rating system and values and behaviors. These are two critical global initiatives that require global understanding and adoption to successfully deliver the 2026 performance cycle. The intern will be integral in helping to ensure that leaders and associates understand the change and expectations. This means helping to develop change strategies and assets. Participating in the execution of the project plan and taking ownership of delivering an identified portion by the end of the summer.

GTA & D&I:

  • In Global Talent Acquisition, we help people see brilliantly by being a trusted and consultative partner delivering meaningful talent acquisition solutions to drive brilliant patient outcomes. Our D&I team helps Alcon live our purpose to See Brilliantly by creating a diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace environment where all associates see and value each other's unique perspectives and capabilities so we can grow and innovate together.
  • Project 1: Evolve work along Alcon's Diversity & Inclusion strategic theme of Fostering a Culture of Inclusion. Alcon is looking to iterate on our next generation of "I See You Brilliantly" and our "Inclusive Leader Journey" including both the US and international relevance and approach. The intern will be integral in developing next generation concepts and getting feedback from stakeholders, business leaders and HRBPs on the next generation. Participation in the development and execution of the project plan and ownership of delivering an identified portion by the end of the summer to ensure success.
  • Project 2: Driving the development of functional recruiting performance metrics to be leveraged in strategic discussions with Business Leaders and HRBP's. These metrics will help evolve Alcon's GTA Advisory Expertise and will span the areas of Early Career, Professional and Executive Recruiting. The project will also collaborate with in-house recruiting teams as well as RPO vendors. The intern's work will help paint the picture of future strategic GTA consultation by delivering a recommendation at the end of the summer for overall metrics.

Location: Internship will be located at our U.S headquarters in Fort Worth, TX.

After successful completion of an HR Summer internship at Alcon, interns may be considered for participation in the full time HR Leadership Development Program (HRLDP). HRLDP is a key pipeline for graduate degree talent with ambition to advance into HR Business Partner (HRBP) leadership positions within Alcon. Members will engage in three, 12-month rotations. Rotations will include 2 HRBP rotations and 1 rotation within Global Talent Acquisition (GTA). Program benefits will include Mentoring, Functional Programming, Networking Events, Tailored Development, and Executive Presentations presented to Alcon leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to the internship, and at least one additional semester following your internship.
  • Must be pursuing a graduate level degree in HR or obtaining an MBA with a HR/management focus.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (out of 4.0).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
  • Must be able to commit to a 10–12-week, full-time (minimum of 40 hours weekly) position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects).
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
