As an Associate I, AI Governance and Threat Management you will be trusted to play a critical role in ensuring the Alcon Responsible AI governance framework includes the appropriate security controls and risk assessment processes in accordance with the evolving risk landscape surrounding Artificial Intelligence. This role focuses on identifying potential security risks, aligning technical security controls and requirements, and supporting risk mitigation efforts across the Alcon enterprise related to Artificial Intelligence at Fort Worth, TX. In this role, a typical day will include:

  1. Assists in conducting security risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and gaps in security protocols related to Artificial Intelligence.
  2. Supports the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies and security improvements related to Artificial Intelligence.
  3. Suggests required control alterations to the Alcon Information Security framework related to Artificial Intelligence.
  4. Implements and maintains technologies associated with responsible AI security controls and governance.
  5. Works with cross-functional teams to ensure the effectiveness of security measures and address identified risks related to Artificial Intelligence.
  6. Documents security assessments, tracks the status of mitigation efforts, and reports findings to senior staff.
  7. Provide support in the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards related to Artificial Intelligence.
  8. Supports the success of broader risk management initiatives by ensuring tasks are executed effectively utilizing existing process.
  9. Provides input on improvements to security practices and risk management processes.

Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts, such as:

  • Supervised/unsupervised learning
  • Algorithmic bias and fairness
  • Explain ability (e.g., SHAP, LIME)
  • Experience with data governance tools or frameworks
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001)
  • Ability to analyze model performance and detect potential ethics, bias, security or privacy concerns.

Strong written and verbal communication (especially for policy translation).

Ability to work cross-functionally across technical and non-technical teams.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Stakeholder management and reporting (e.g., dashboards, risk registers).

What you'll bring to Alcon:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.

3 Years of relevant experience.
