Supervisor Support Services - OR
This position requires a high school diploma, with a degree preferred. Candidates should have strong organizational skills, along with significant experience in materials management and prior supervisory experience. The scheduled hours for this role are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Job Summary
The Supervisor Support Services - OR works directly with the Business Manager and coordinates activities and resources which promote efficient functioning of support activities for the O.R. These services include fiscal, personnel, administrative, Materials Management and Computerized Data Management activities.
Job Functions
Essential Functions
- Ensures that staff are competent, patient centered, and participate in quality improvement processes.
- Assures safe, clean environment in collaboration with other hospital departments.
- Facilitates cooperation and collaboration across the organization through interdisciplinary teams and other approaches as indicated.

Service-Wide Leadership:
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving.
- Assists with planning and monitoring Support Services budget.
- Assists with Value Analysis Team savings reports and initiatives.
- Completes all administrative, fiscal and personnel functions in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for decisions made within as defined patient population/unit.
- Demonstrates responsibility for assuring that legal and risk management principles are included in the decision-making process at the defined patient population/units areas.
Human Resources Management:
- Ensures appropriate availability and utilization of human and material resources to assure quality patient care.
- Assigns, monitors, directs, and evaluates work of, as well as trains a multi-disciplinary workforce.
- Demonstrates the ability to support, adjust, and apply changes to the defined patient population/unit as a result of an evolving organization, service, and health care environment.
- Supports staff during the change process to implement changes effectively; evaluates the process as well as the outcome.
- Provides an environment which encourages innovative approaches for the defined area and the organization, while maximizing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Establishes and maintains credibility through fair, consistent and supportive behavior in all situations.
- Assists staff in development of corrective action plan to facilitate achievement of individual and unit goals.
Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment:
- Applies knowledge of logistics, supply chain, and materials management principles into practice.
- Utilizes knowledge to accomplish the goals for a defined area, based on the mission, vision, values, and direction of the organization.

Quality and Regulatory Compliance:
- Participates in Lean and quality/process improvement efforts to continuously improve supply chain management.

- Assesses need for, and initiates change as a result of the evolving organizational, service, and health care environment.
- Supports a system that encourages the identification and analysis of errors and near misses in the context of a safety culture.
- As assigned, conducts departmental safety inspections to assure compliance with hospital safety standards as evidenced by documented inspection reports.
- Is aware of and compliant with all hospital and regulatory agency safety goals and objectives.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree Required
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
