Overview Of Position

The Prevention & Support Academic Assistant provides daily support to students and staff at the Resilience Scholars Academy. The purpose of this role is to help students stay engaged in learning by reinforcing academic and behavioral expectations, supporting prevention strategies, and assisting with small-group or individual interventions. The Assistant works under the guidance of the Prevention & Support Academic Facilitator and teachers to promote student success.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and the Facilitator in classroom prevention strategies.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group academic and behavioral support.
• Monitor attendance, behavior, and student engagement.
• Reinforce SEL lessons and intervention plans.
• Support supervision of students in classrooms and common areas.
• Assist in crisis response and de-escalation under staff direction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's preferred.
• Experience working with students in education or youth programs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and follow plans.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Basic knowledge of behavior management strategies preferred.
