Network Administrator

We are seeking a Network Administrator to work on the Theater Strike Weapons System (TSWS) Program. This position is responsible for supporting Tier 1 through Tier 3 network issues across multiple environments, supporting infrastructure changes, large infrastructure projects, and providing overall service consistent with customer care objectives. The position requires successful utilization of senior level experience in network engineering, network operations, network performance tools/analysis, project management, and systems integration. This network professional will ensure that Lockheed Martin networks are managed, controlled, and updated in a manner consistent with both Lockheed Martin policies and procedures. All work must be performed on-site, including some off-shift hours, weekends, and occasional travel.

This network engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Enterprise network design, implementation, maintenance, documentation, and administration experience.
  • Provide support for routing, switching, configuration, deployment, and management of switches, routers, firewalls, and Type-1 Encryptors.
  • Troubleshoot network outages. Work tickets assigned to the Network Administration team.
  • Maintain a secure and compliant infrastructure 802.1x design and support.
  • Daily collaboration with Administrator team and Cyber team.
  • Hardware procurement forecasting.
  • Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains enterprise-wide solutions to total system or subsystems using internally created and/or off the shelf products.
  • Analyzes and identifies all or part of a company's existing or new peripherals, network, and telecommunications systems requirements, taking into consideration the special technology needs.
  • Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem.

In light of current internal business pressures, priority consideration will be given to qualified candidates who are currently affiliated with the Enterprise Operations' EBDT (Enterprise Business & Digital Transformation) organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Comp TIA Security+ certification
  • Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches
  • Knowledge of type 1 encryptor (TACLANE)
  • Working knowledge of DISA STIG/SRG
  • Experience with Firewalls
  • Troubleshooting network anomalies and failures
  • Experience in planning of network system development activities
  • Knowledge of configuration management methods and practices
  • Implementation, analysis, support and troubleshooting of closed environments
  • Active Secret clearance required
  • Must be a self-starter who can take senior-leader guidance and intent, and oversee the operations of independent and collaboratively assigned projects.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs
  • Must be a US Citizen

Desired Skills:

  • Professional certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or Juniper certifications
  • Experience with WAN services
  • In-depth understanding of network security including IDS, IPS, ACLs, IPSEC, VPN
  • Strong working knowledge of NSA Type-1 Encryptors
  • Understanding and implementation experience of (802.11x)
  • Network Automation experience
  • Network Virtualization technologies
  • Ability to install and configure Network Monitoring Tools
  • Experience with network virtualization
  • Ability to prepare network designs using Microsoft Visio
  • Provide effective communication in-person and written to all levels of the organization regarding pertinent network activities.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Windows/Linux Server administration

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
