Instrumentation And Controls Engineer

The role requires experience with electronics, instrumentation, and plant electrical maintenance. Candidates with a four-year degree, two-year technical certification, or an associate degree in electronics are preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered. Experience with Distributed Control System (DCS), Turbine Control System (TCS), or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on plant electrical systems.
  • Configure and maintain program settings for various control systems.
  • Handle call-out responsibilities on a rotating weekly basis, including holidays and weekends.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly.
  • Understand and manage plant systems and boiler controls.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills to make informed decisions with limited information.

Must Haves:

  • CAPE - Computer-Aided Protection Engineering
  • Also, will accept Aspen, Gridscale X, or ETAP

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with DCS, TCS, or PLCs.
  • Ability to work in a team and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Emerson Ovation experience is preferred.
  • GE system experience is a plus.
  • ABET ABET-accredited degree is preferred for engineering candidates.

Work Environment:

  • The position is based in a power plant with a team of four. The dress code is casual, requiring hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and earplugs. The work schedule is from 6 AM, with four 10-hour shifts.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
