SAIC is currently seeking Field Service Experts (FSE) to support SAIC's Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Team. The primary work location is on-site in Huntsville, AL, with occasional travel to other locations both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS).
This team is responsible for delivering high-level technical support, system integration, and field service engineering for the IBCS Program. The position involves collaborating with military and civilian personnel to ensure the seamless deployment, operation, and maintenance of the IBCS and RIG 360 systems.
Responsibilities include: providing technical support services in support of maintaining and sustaining fielded IBCS/RIG 360 systems, equipment and software at all identified locations; representing the IBCS/RIG 360 program as the primary point of contact; integrating and maintaining systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux and integrating COTS/GOTS products with IBCS/RIG 360 systems; assisting in the emplacement and initialization of the IBCS/RIG 360 systems; advising customers on the capabilities and limitations of the IBCS/RIG 360 systems; assisting in troubleshooting IBCS/RIG 360 hardware, software, and networks; providing feedback to program leadership regarding system performance and end-user feedback; performing operator and maintainer tasks on equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and software; conducting training; supporting Program Help Desk; and conducting scheduled equipment inventories.
Qualifications include: a BS and nine (9) years' experience; six (6) years' experience accepted in lieu of degree (per contract); experience with tactical networks and troubleshooting; direct Linux experience; in field operator training; troubleshooting of computer systems and networks; ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance (heavier items may require team support/equipment assistance); good oral communications; ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments; ability to work independently and efficiently with short term deadlines; must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance; and IAT Level II certification obtained (e.g., Security+ CE) within 180 days of hire in accordance with DOD 8570/8140 requirements and company policy (active Security + CE is highly preferred).
