Equipment Engineer

Provide effective technical expertise for mechanical systems by designing, managing, and implementing equipment solutions based on the department’s business plan to ensure company sustainability. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, manage, and implement established E-Flow (evaluation flow) for investment projects to accomplish business plan targets.
  • Complete equipment improvement activities and decision-making processes to enhance characteristics that empower every associate to succeed.
  • Adhere to equipment installation standards (drawings, compliance, data) to improve MTBF (mean time between failures) and MTTR (mean time to repair).
  • Drive, support, and develop engineering solutions to solve complex problems and achieve department targets.
  • Support the introduction of new technologies and provide technical training to drive continuous process improvements.
  • Utilize data analysis and customer feedback to identify potential problems and implement countermeasures to reduce impact on SQCDME (safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, environmental).
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation/procedures to meet design intent for long-term production sustainability.
  • Develop the capability of self, colleagues, and team through training and sharing experiences to ensure team technical skill set growth.
  • Share engineering technical knowledge and change points through verbal and written communication to all internal and external customers to strengthen department and plant characteristics.
  • Identify gaps pertaining to equipment to develop, lead, and actively participate in activities to improve SQCDME (safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, environmental).

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in engineering and equipment engineering.
  • Experience with CNC machining and programming, including G Code & M Code.
  • Strong understanding in Mechanical Engineering and FMEA.
  • Ability to conduct downtime analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-6 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with Catia 3D Design or equivalent 3D Design Software.
  • Ability to create technical presentations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to teach others.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract position based out of Lincoln, AL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
