The Engineering Technician is a key position in the Company and will support and contribute to the Company goals of profitability, return on investment, inventory turnover and accident prevention. The Engineering Technician, under general supervision, performs test and service functions relating to the reliability and servicing of Bush Hog and other Alamo Group whole goods and purchased components. Works from sketches, prints or verbal instructions to fabricate and assemble experimental parts, components, and assemblies. Performs bench and field test from test plans and submits detailed reports. Makes changes to existing products and provides innovative ideas for functional and cost improvements.

Essential functions of the job include:
Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's): Desire and capability to work with machinery in a "hands on" environment required. Knowledge and experience in fabrication, welding and tractor mechanics required. Hydraulic and electrical systems knowledge and experience preferred. Computer literate required. Familiar with CAD program preferred. Must be able to work occasional overtime to complete projects as needed. Must have a valid driver's license, health card and DOT training to operate the department's truck and trailer or be willing to obtain within 6 weeks. Some travel required.
Education and experience: Associate's degree in technology or equivalent experience required. 3+ years or more dealership service experience preferred. CAD program experience (SolidWorks) preferred.

Must wear all required safety equipment and work in non-climate-controlled areas. May require limited overnight travel (less than 5%).
