Avionics Electronics Engineer

Join Our Team as an Avionics Electronics Engineer where you will work on developing the new Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW), leveraging our decades of hypersonic experience and expertise. Location: This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Littleton CO and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time. Ready for a challenge at the speed of Hypersonic? Come join Lockheed Martin's Long Range Hypersonic Weapon team. Our system will travel at Mach 5 (over a mile per second)! Helping us create a system that goes that fast means overcoming several difficult physics and engineering challenges. You will be integrating hypersonic missile technology into an Army battery on a highly accelerated schedule to deliver a hypersonic operational prototype system to the Soldier.

What does this role look like? The role focuses on designing and developing electrical interfaces for tactical-vehicle subsystems and components, translating both formal requirements and lessons learned into reliable solutions. It involves troubleshooting and fault isolation of electrical hardware to maintain operational readiness, as well as applying core electrical-engineering principles to create and validate schematics and cable-connector assemblies (CCA) that meet performance and integration standards.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

  • Support electrical design trade studies
  • Regularly communicate with internal team leads, customers and program management
  • Develop electrical interfaces for the tactical vehicle subsystems and components

To be effective in this role, you will need:

  • Drive the development of hardware within cost and schedule constraints
  • 8+ years of professional experience
  • While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Experience with circuit design, troubleshooting and/or circuit analysis
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance which requires US Citizenship

Desired Skills:

  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Work under only general direction
  • Flight hardware experience
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin specifications, tools, and procedures
  • Hands-on hardware experience
  • Experience working with suppliers
  • Strong communication skills and able to effectively work with customer and suppliers
