Our Munitions Department in Huntsville, AL is searching for an Electrical Engineer III to work in person at 513 Madison Street, SE, Huntsville, AL 35801.
Electrical Engineer III

Design, prototype, test and verify the performance of complex systems and electronic modules for Munitions and other energetics related systems. Apply systems, hardware, and software knowledge, as applicable, to the design of new products and the redesign/modification of existing systems and components. Perform analyses and trade studies. Provide technical input to specifications that support system and module design and enhancement. Evaluate and recommend options and alternatives for system and module level components. Exercise good judgment and best practice experience to plan and accomplish goals.
- Design electronic circuits, including digital, analog and power distribution
- Create schematics and PCB layouts using appropriate CAD software
- Design electrical interfaces and cabling
- Lead, perform, and/or support electrical system integration, test, and analysis
- Lead and mentor junior team members. Collaborate with senior members.
- Provide original design inputs to the development of electrical engineering projects.
- Participate in technical discussions to develop product ideas and resolve problems.
- Conduct technical research to understand alternate approaches to a problem and/or technical issue.
- Support investigations and engineering evaluations of highly complex projects and products.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities, products, and/or services for the required level of performance.
- Process, facilitate/implement design ideas, and improve existing products.
- Interact with customers, vendors, engineers, production personnel and program management to successfully complete projects.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams for detail, module, and system level designs.
- Prepare requirements documents and detailed specifications to include the allocation of requirements to systems and system components.
- Work with teams of highly skilled professionals to research, design and develop new and complex systems and architectures.
- Analyze, improve, and/or originate approaches and techniques for rapid prototyping, development, test, and full-scale production.
7+ years relevant engineering experience in an electrical engineering discipline.
BS or BA in Engineering Science

- Integrating and interfacing RF systems, radios, and antennas
- 7+ years preferred in a relevant electrical engineering position.
- Good working knowledge of embedded electronics in a System of Systems, EMI/EMC requirements, and exposure to other electrical disciplines.
- Microcontroller, sensor, data acquisition, mixed-signal, and high-speed circuit design.
- C programming, testing, and debugging real-time, embedded products and applications.
- Modeling and circuit analysis using best industry practices and software.
- Proficient with Schematic/PCB tools, SPICE simulation tools, and Microsoft Office products.
- Hands-on prototype fabrication and testing.
- Excellent technical documentation skills for design, manufacturing, test reports, presentations, discussions, and proposals.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and in highly collaborative teams.
- Accurately articulate concepts, theories, and system design attributes to technical team members.
- Product development for government programs and defense systems with military standards.
- Design and test of military (or extended industrial) products for extreme environments (temperature, shock, vibration, altitude, etc.).
- Ability to acquire and maintain a DoD security clearance.
