Acute Care Nursing Position
These positions are roles within the Acute Care Nursing (A.C.N.) department. Personnel will provide direct care to patients of all ages, from neonates to adults, presenting with diverse acute and chronic health problems.
$128,960 - $128,960 a year Facility: Pine Ridge Comprehensive Health Care Facility, 607 Indian Health Road, 44B Pejuta RD, Pine Ridge, South Dakota, 57770 Schedule: 12-hour shifts-Day: 0700–1930; Night: 1900–0730 The Licensed Practical Nurse provides essential clinical support and direct patient care under the scope of their license. Services shall cover the range of Acute Care Nursing services typically provided in rural civilian practice, including the following:
- Pediatric and adult medical-surgical in-patient care
- End-of-life care
- Cardiac telemetry
Acuity:
- Diabetes mellitus
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Pneumonia
- RSV/COVID/Influenza
- Hepatic encephalopathy
- Alcohol withdrawal
- Failure to thrive
Core Responsibilities:
- Direct Care: Assist with dressing changes, ambulation, and activities of daily living.
- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications through various routes (PO, IM, IV, etc.).
- Technical Tasks: Perform range of motion exercises and respiratory treatments, and assist with cardiac telemetry monitoring.
- Patient Education: Instruct patients and families on disease processes, plan of care, and use of equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain complete nursing documentation and medical record confidentiality in accordance with IHS regulations and CMS requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- License: Must hold a current, unrestricted state nursing license from any of the 50 U.S. states or D.C.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience
- Certifications: Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS
