The successful candidate will be reporting to Group Manager Category Management and will be responsible but not limited to the following:
Conduct an analysis of ACSA's spend, historical data and external market across a portfolio of commodities to baseline, determine trends and identify sourcing opportunities
Conduct research on the marketplace and identify potential suppliers. Assess potential suppliers' capabilities and capacity to meet materials/service requirements
Analyse supplier proposals/offerings, evaluate suppliers, rank suppliers and recommend suppliers based on their ability to meet or exceed business needs for the purpose of identifying and selecting the best fit for the enterprise
Build and maintain constructive relationships with suppliers and service providers
Use leading practice procurement tools (such as cost trend analysis, price change analysis and supplier performance reviews) to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service and quality and keep internal customers informed and involved in ongoing supplier management
Monitor and report on financial compliance/performance of the contract and takes appropriate corrective action when necessary to maintain exceptional service
Negotiate supplier contracts in terms of materials/service quality and prices, delivery specifications, contract lifespan, contract ceilings, contract terms and conditions, etc
Implement BBBEE strategies to ensure required targets are met
Identify and quantify all major costs associated with sourcing activities
Ensure compliance and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), including regulatory registers
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and applicable prescripts
Ensure strict confidentiality is maintained for suppliers and ACSA
Manage ACSA's risk exposure through identification, implementation and maintenance of risk control measures to minimise the Company's liability
Compile, submit and present various category specific reports
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
Bachelor's Degree (3 years - 360 credits) (NQF 7) in Supply Chain/ Procurement/ Business Management/ Finance is essential
5 years' relevant operational experience in strategic sourcing or strategic purchasing organisation is essential
Registration with Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply (CIPS) OR SAPICS
Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) Advantageous
