Operations Controller

Reporting to the General Manager, System Operations Control, the Operations Controller is the point person and team leader in "Day of Operation". The incumbent is responsible to ensure coordination of flight schedules and to oversee recovery plans to maintain the integrity of the corporate schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective inter-branch communication for day of flight schedule.
- Communicate to Senior Management operational irregularities and impact.
- Implement emergency response procedures in the event of an aircraft accident.
- Prepare, and communicate daily operations summaries and host daily operational conference calls.
- Oversee day of commercial decisions for the best possible outcome for our passengers and all key stakeholders.
- Provide oversight and direction for irregular operations handling, including the pre-planning for forecast events.
- Develop and oversee a team of direct report Operational Control Managers through feedback, mentoring, and performance management.
- Supervise a team of 2 Operational Control Managers, 2 Aircraft Routing Managers, 2 Passenger Movement Managers, 2 Crew Network Managers, 1 Manager Passenger Movement and 1 Passenger Movement Express Manager.
- Lead and oversee the various Operational Branches in the Operations Centre to ensure corporate priorities, and values are followed.
- Commercial decision maker for departure and arrival Traffic Management Initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in aviation operations an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Must have and demonstrate solid operational background
- Strong leadership competencies
- Good conflict resolution skills
- Proven abilities in coaching, and motivating employees
- Strong focus on continuous improvement and achieving objectives
- Flexibility to cover multiple shifts over a 24/7 Operation
- Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
