An internship opportunity titled "Internship In Management Of Operations / Improvement (ALL GENDER)" has just opened at Airbus SAS, on its site in Toulouse. You will join the OMMPE department, in charge of the management of manufacturing operations. Your internship will consist of supporting the Manufacturing Operations Management team in the implementation of a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
This internship, lasting 6 months, will ideally begin in January 2025 (this period is indicative and may be adjusted).
Your main missions will consist of:
Support To Continuous Improvement:
Helping to identify and analyze areas of operational improvement.
Supporting the documentation of new standards, processes, and best practices resulting from improvement activities.
Visually tracking the progress of ongoing improvement projects on communication boards.
Communication And Engagement:
Developing and creating compelling communication materials (e.g., presentations, newsletters, intranet articles, workshop posters) to share updates, successes, and future projects of manufacturing operations management.
Helping to organize team meetings, information sessions, and feedback sessions to ensure a two-way flow of information.
Translating complex operational concepts and data into simple, visual, and understandable messages for a varied audience.
Acting as a "on-the-ground" contact, gathering information and feedback directly from production teams to inform the manufacturing operations management strategy.
Your tutor will accompany you throughout your internship, helping you to develop your skills and achieve your professional objectives.
This internship will allow you to develop the following skills:
Effective Communication: Translating complex operational concepts and data into simple, visual, and understandable messages.
Building Strong Relationships: Acting as a "on-the-ground" contact and gathering information and feedback directly from production teams.
Problem Solving: Using an analytical mindset to interpret data, identify problems, and contribute to finding practical solutions.
Proactive And Practical Mindset: Being autonomous and comfortable spending time on the production floor to understand real-world challenges.
Your ticket to this adventure:
You are currently in Master 2, 5th year of engineering school or an equivalent.
You ideally possess the following skills:
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, visual management).
Proficiency in Google Workspace or equivalent, particularly Slides (for presentations) and Sheets (for basic data analysis).
Knowledge of basic Agile principles, and at a larger scale like SAFe, would be an asset.
Soft Skills:
Excellent Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical audiences. (English is indispensable and French, German, or Spanish is an asset).
Proactivity And Practical Spirit: Knows how to take initiatives and is not afraid to spend time on the production floor (the Gemba) to understand real-world challenges.
Strong Interpersonal Skills: Approachable, empathetic, and able to build relationships with employees at all levels.
Analytical And Problem-Solving Mindset: Can interpret data to identify problems and contribute to finding practical solutions.
Creativity And Visual Thinking: Ability to design engaging and visually impactful communication materials.
