Avionics Systems Specialist

The A220 commercial aircraft Program is looking for an Avionics Systems Specialist to join our In-Service engineering team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work closely with the integration team and the A220 customer response center.

You will be part of the Avionics Systems In-Service Engineering team developing technical solutions for Airlines and producing engineering documents to support aircraft return-to-service. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as Avionics Systems Specialist will be to monitor the A220 aircraft fleet, act as the customer's voice to report their issues, and propose mitigations and solutions in collaboration with integration teams and suppliers.

Your challenges:

  • Respond to customers' technical and troubleshooting queries, which involve resolving a wide range of long term in-service issues;
  • Work closely with a support team within Customer Response Center (CRC) and Technical Support/Services as well as with Field Service Representatives;
  • Propose technical solutions for in-service issues;
  • Prepare reports and presentations on in-service issues;
  • Prepare/validate Engineering disposition to return the aircraft to service;
  • Raise Program Change Request (PCR) in order to improve Fleet Reliability;
  • Analyze recorded aircraft data;
  • Visit operator and vendor facilities to investigate, analyze and prepare technical reports on specific problem areas;
  • Review service bulletins for technical effectiveness;
  • Participate in operators' conferences.

Your boarding pass:

  • You have an Avionic Engineering Degree or equivalent diploma;
  • You have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Customer Support or airline operations (Maintenance Control/Engineering and/or Fleet Management/Fleet Technical Support);
  • You have good knowledge of aircraft systems and are able to use common sense in your daily activities.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of avionics products is mandatory as well as on-board monitoring systems and real-time fault management systems.
  • You have the ability to make solidified and accurate decisions exercising good judgment skills;
  • You have the ability to multitask and to be flexible to change tasks with little or no notice;
  • You are a team player with strong communication (verbal and written);
  • You are organized, able to manage your time and be able to prioritize tasks effectively with short deadlines;
  • You are fluid both in French and English (spoken and written) is required.

This role may involve some travels for business (worldwide). Travel Required: Occasional travel within North America & Overseas Possible on-call duties during week-ends and/or holiday seasons.
