Would you be excited about being involved in the early development phases of an aircraft? How about supporting the definition and deployment of the quality system that ensures we deliver concepts, requirements, models & data right all the time for the years to come? Would you like working in a transnational & diverse team with many interfaces and being involved in aircraft development projects? Then you would love our Flight Physics and Aircraft Architecture & Integration Quality team!
Our team looks for a new colleague:
Do you recognize yourself? Then, the Quality Development Engineer for Overall Aircraft Design could be the right position for you.
Your working environment:
Global capital of aeronautics and European capital for space research, Toulouse is a dynamic city in the southwest of France served by an international airport. Ideally located between the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic ocean and close to the Pyrenees mountains, it offers plenty of options for outdoor activities!
How we care for you:
At Airbus, we support you to work, connect and collaborate more easily and flexibly. Wherever possible, we foster flexible working arrangements to stimulate innovative thinking.
Your challenges:
You will join the transnational Quality Engineering for Flight Physics and Aircraft Architecture and Integration team. Your main interfaces will be the Aircraft Architecture and Integration and the Flight Physics teams in Engineering and other quality engineering teams as well as aircraft chief engineering teams. You will be involved in all aircraft programs, with specific focus on eAction.
You will contribute to ensuring that a complete End-2-End Quality System is 'built-in' and adhered to at the very early phases of the development & beyond, for the next aircraft pre developments, R&T and aircraft major modifications.
This needs to be designed and deployed well in advance of the development with the different stakeholders to secure the full conformity of a product/service to customer requirements and external/internal regulations (DOA/POA/MOA), throughout the product life cycle.
You will support the senior quality program integrator in defining the necessary Quality Requirements for the Quality Management System (QMS) for eAction, thanks to data continuity, predictive and preventive mindset, effective feedback loops and profound root cause analysis culture. This is covering Product, Process (methods & tools), People and, especially important in our perimeter -Models and Data.
In this role, you can act as a focal point of Quality, in a network of Aircraft and Component Architects, interfacing and connecting to our partner functions, to influence, integrate & guarantee the required level of Quality/Maturity to be secured. You will be working very closely with the Quality for Future Programs Organisation.
You will be involved in defining and deploying the best quality assurance means for engineering deliverables to eAction.
You will also contribute to some projects impacting a large number of engineers (such as robustifying feedback loops methods & tools, implementing a design risk analysis in a concept phase, etc.).
Your main deliverables will be :
- Contribute to Ensuring that quality is "built into" the new design using Lessons Learnt, Quality experience from previous developments and the Voice of the Customer. Identify the Key Quality parameters (Key Characteristics) that will ensure the Quality of the product.
- Support the team in understanding the various external requirement obligations and ensure they are accounted for with means of compliance.
- support the deployment of Quality policies, Quality Standards, and compliance with DOA requirements
- Contribute to the Definition of the Quality Development Plan for the project. Set up the relevant Quality Milestones and associated measures and maturity levels to ensure Quality is 'Built-in', rather than 'Inspected-In'.
- Use Hands-on return of experience from Operations / In-service into new PDP Risk Mitigation (e.g., DFMEA, KC/CTI identification, etc..)
Your boarding pass:
- Experience in performing quality assurance, ideally in a DOA perimeter and in quality for programs or quality engineering
- Experience in prevention and or solving methods would be a plus (APQP, DFMEA, PPS)
or alternatively
- experience in engineering, chief engineering or related function with a willingness to proactively and quickly develop an understanding of Quality fundamentals
- Good knowledge of DEVELOP processes
