Mechanical Systems Integration & Design Engineer

A permanent job opportunity has arisen for a "Mechanical Systems Integration & Design Engineer" within Airbus Defence & Space to be based on Getafe site in Spain. The successful candidate will join the TADAM-2 department at the Combat and UAV area and will be integrated into a multidisciplinary team.

Platforms like Eurofighter, Eurodrone, FCAS or SiRTAP are under the scope of our work. The Mechanical System Installation team stands for Quality & Improvement related to Fuel, Hydraulic, Environmental Control System, Equipment integration on aircraft among others.

The main activities of a Mechanical System integration & Design Engineer are related with delivering technical solutions in support of building, testing and delivering aircraft:

  • Mechanical Systems definition from System Architecture
  • Mechanical Components Specification for purchasing
  • Mechanical Parts Documentation for Manufacturing
  • Mechanical Systems Installation Documentation for assembling
  • Interfacing with external partners and suppliers and communicating with corresponding stakeholders in design reviews, test reports and project follow-up meetings.

  • Components selection, specification and practical application
  • Selection of Manufacturing Technologies

Required Competences & Skills:

  • Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent
  • Fluent in Writing and Spoken English
  • Abilities to accept Design delegation
  • Motivated, proactive and team dynamic player
  • Committed in their own development to learn new skills

Desired Competences & Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in CATIA and PDM/PLM Tools, as well as the usual back office tools (Office...)
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems & structures design
  • Knowledge and/or experience in work linked to Aeronautical military projects.
  • Professional experience as Engineer / Designer on Fluid Systems Installations (hydraulic, fuel, pneumatics, etc) and Equipment installations (sensor & antennas, lights and cameras, cockpit installations, etc.)
