Engineer Material & Process
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Independently processing and resolving material obsolescence issues in an aeronautical context
- Coordinating and implementing technical solutions for REACH topics and other regulatory requirements
- Independently conducting preliminary investigations, developing, and qualifying organic materials and processes.
- Providing support and coordination to various departments, including design, statics, manufacturing, and maintenance, on issues related to organic materials and processes
- Diagnosing and resolving deviations, quality reports, and incidents from flight operations
- Supporting and driving the implementation of new work methods as digitalization progresses
Desired skills and qualifications
- The job requires knowledge and skills that are usually acquired through a relevant, completed degree with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of Chemistry, Aerospace Engineering, or Materials Science or comparable and related subject-specific additional qualifications or completed vocational training with a corresponding particularly extensive subject-specific additional qualification. The total required knowledge and experience may have been acquired in other ways
- Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility
- Specialized experience in the engineering of organic materials and related testing methods, particularly within the aerospace industry (e.g., polymers), is essential. This includes a solid understanding of polyreactions of resins and adhesives and the consolidation of thermoplastic materials
- The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to independently resolve complex issues. You must be able to plan and organize your work autonomously.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills are necessary for coordinating with internal and external partners
- The ability to work independently
- Proficiency in English and German (B2 level or higher)
- Willingness to travel for domestic and international business
- This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities
Business Unit
You will be working for the Safety Business Unit of Airbus Protect in Donauwörth as a Engineer Material & Process in the helicopter industry.
Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we support Airbus Helicopters in developing helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.
