Flight Quality Engineer
We are looking for a flight quality engineer to join Airbus Protect in Blagnac. You will be part of an international team within the service engineering team, focused on AFS navigation and communication systems, with a possible start date in October 2025 (earlier if possible).
In this role, you will be part of the "Flight Quality Analysis" operational unit within the service engineering of AFS navigation and communication systems (APAI5B). Your main mission will be to analyze and understand in-service events (such as hard landings, tail strikes, severe turbulence, or runway excursions) and their origin, providing information and recommendations to airlines on best operational practices.
Beyond technical assistance, Airbus offers to help operators better understand the event through detailed analysis, mainly based on raw data extracted from the flight data recorder.
This Airbus activity, known as "Flight Quality Analysis" (HQA), involves analyzing specific in-service events. It is conducted in close collaboration with several Airbus departments such as the Flight Test and Integration Center, Engineering Department, Airline Operations, Flight Safety, and other relevant Airbus customer service engineering departments.
Airbus contributes to the safety of Airbus aircraft by monitoring and analyzing in-service events reported by airlines.

- Understand an event and its origin.
- Retrieve data and information from the event.
- Organize and coordinate the meeting with the Engineering Department, flight test specialists, and other stakeholders to analyze the event.
- Analyze raw data from the flight data recorder (FDR), quick access recorder (QAR), and environmental information.
- Compare DFDR data with FCOM, QRH, FCTM, etc.
- Write flight quality reports.
- Review HQA reports already written by subcontractors.
- Manage communication with clients.
- Provide information to airlines on best operational practices.
- Monitor the coherence of the fleet and system design.
Are you our future talent?
- You are a graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or similar, or a completed technical apprenticeship (e.g., in the aviation sector) with appropriate supplementary training/education.
- Previous experience in analyzing FDR data.
- Knowledge of flight and flight qualities is a plus.
- You have a good team spirit and teamwork is crucial for you.
- Analytical thinking and structured working methods are very important to you.
- As an open-minded person, you are confident in your ability to question existing practices and implement improvements.
