Flight Control Law Design Engineer (D/F/M)

In order to support Air Power Engineering Flight Physics, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Flight Control Law Design Engineer.

Your tasks and responsibilities

The jobholder will be responsible for developing advanced flight control laws (FCLs) and autoflight capabilities for manned and unmanned military aircraft. Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop FCLs and autopilot functionalities using state-of-the-art tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and SCADE
  • Contribute to trade studies to identify optimal designs based on flying qualities' analyses and aircraft performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to integrate FCLs into the overall aircraft system design.
  • Contribute to stability and flying qualities' assessments
  • Contribute to testing, validation and certification activities by analyzing (flight) test data and to the generation of certification evidences

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with the design of control laws or autopilot functionality
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation.
  • Experience with military certification standards (SSDS, AEP-4671, EMAR 21, MilStd 1797) would be a plus
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Fluent in English; German would be a plus
