Certification Qualification Engineer H135/H145

At Airbus Helicopters - Standort in Donauwörth, we are looking for a Certification Qualification Engineer H135/H145 (d/f/m) to strengthen our current and future projects.

Do you have experience in the certification or development, are you open-minded and communication-oriented? Then come to us as a Certification Qualification Engineer (CQE) in the Airworthiness Office of Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth.

We offer you a challenging, cross-functional position in a multinational team with great responsibility, including the opportunity to negotiate with aviation authorities worldwide. This position allows you great insights into our products, systems, and organization.

You will be part of the EC135 / BK117 Chief Airworthiness Engineer (CAE) team and take the lead in certification projects for new helicopter variants or modifications of already approved helicopter configurations, to actively work for the safety of our products.

As a member of the CAE team, you are part of many different cross-functional projects that cover the entire fleet of Airbus Helicopters EC135 / BK117 variants. Each project includes various technical disciplines and actors (chief engineering, design, construction, internal and external specialists, customer support, manufacturing, etc.). As a responsible CQE, you work with these and are responsible for providing the necessary evidence to meet the certification requirements within the given development and delivery milestones.

Your tasks with us:

  • Processing/leading certification projects including all associated project management tasks (planning, reporting, risk management, etc.)
  • Creation of the certification basis and requirements baseline for modifications of existing or new helicopter variants
  • Determination and coordination of the certification strategy
  • Creation of evidence programs and coordination with the relevant specialist departments, chief engineer, and responsible authorities
  • Coordination of the necessary activities for certification within the overall project planning
  • Utilization of the Airbus Helicopters Airworthiness Network to ensure the achievement of certification goals
  • Examination and validation of evidence documents with respect to compliance with airworthiness regulations or specifications and completeness and mutual compatibility
  • Harmonization of relevant evidence documents with the relevant authorities
  • Release of documents within the privileges of the development company
  • Contact person in questions of certification
  • Support for the harmonization of future certification projects (e.g., in the context of offers)
  • Coordination/support of activities for obtaining flight approvals for test carriers and prototypes

The following qualifications/skills you bring with you:

  • Completed study (at least Master/Diploma) in engineering preferably in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Experience in the development of helicopters or helicopter systems
  • Knowledge and experience in the certification of aircraft and/or systems
  • Experience in project management, especially transnational projects would be desirable
  • You are a team player and preferably have experience working in international teams at different locations
  • You are proactive, have good analytical and communication skills, and a high level of assertiveness
  • You have a problem-solving attitude and the desire for constant improvement, even under pressure and in a complex, highly regulated environment
  • You can communicate complex matters simply and analyze complex matters to find a meaningful next step
  • You have coordination skills and can motivate and inspire others
  • Customer and service orientation
  • Language skills: English fluent, German fluent, and French advantageous
