Job Description:

We are looking for a Cost Engineer Data Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities - Your Mission

Costing is a key enabler for Airbus to offer the most competitive aircraft for new developments, optimizations and services. On the basis of technical and financial expertise combined with empowerment and team work, the team works as a consultant and business partner to bring cost awareness and actionable scenarios across the E2E business cycle, thereby enabling balanced decisions and supplier negotiations with a high degree of confidence.

Our team:

  • Helps decide corporate product and process strategies as they are formulated
  • Is involved early in all new aircraft / product developments
  • Is a key player in achieving competitive pricing agreements with cabin suppliers
  • Liaises with all levels of management in Airbus

Currently, the Costing Team is undergoing a major transformation enabled by digitalization and data management which is having a significant impact in the relationship with our customers (more business partnering and enabling), our methods and tools (cost modelling, references, digital tools) and our people skills and competences.

Tasks & Accountabilities

As a Costing Data Manager - you will develop data management principles. This includes definition of process, capturing current issues and developing new solutions.

For example, data might include technical parameters of manufactured parts or equipment and associated cost elements.

You will contribute to the following main activities:

Data Management

  • Collect and interpret data, analyze results
  • Proactive guidance towards business on how to structure data
  • Define new data collection processes
  • Report the results back to the relevant members of the business
  • Identify patterns and trends in data sets
  • Work alongside teams within the business or the management team to establish business needs
  • Deploy and develop new practices in data management to improve the performance of the costing teams.
  • Support the experts' needs by providing methods and tools.
  • Develop solutions, based on data structuring to guide engineering on cost awareness and predictive costing

Requirements - Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Data Analytics or a related discipline
  • Interested in data, curious about how to help others understanding what you do
  • Data analysis skills
  • Mathematics, Statistics, Economics knowledge
  • Computer Science (Python, Jupyter, SQL/SQL Server, Qliksense…)
  • Ability to analyze large datasets
  • Team player with entrepreneurial mindset
  • Good communication and presentation skills at all levels
  • Strong ability to interact and influence
  • Basic experience in project management
  • Language Skills: Negotiation level of English
  • Knowledge on manufacturing process will be a plus
