Head of A220 Business Operations & Strategy

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Head of A220 Business Operations & Strategy to join our Procurement Operations team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will contribute to secure the supply of A220 components on time and on quality. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. In your role as Head of A220 Business Operations & Strategy, you will be in charge for Procurement Operations of performance management, improving processes, methods & tools and training teams.

Your challenges:

  • Ensure a robust Performance Management for Procurement Operations A220 on Delivery, Rate Readiness, Transfer of Work, Quality and Compliance.
  • For Supply Management define and implement the transformation plan based on: performance management, digitalization & automation, ordering parameters optimization, training and process.
  • Provide recommendations for the ordering policy to optimize inventory (400M$, 7000 BOM parts).
  • Support the SARI Process through monitoring and coaching of the SCQMs before submission of PPS to the Production Panel.
  • Ensure supplier performance data is available for Strategic Procurement to manage supplier non-performance from a commercial point of view.
  • Consolidate OP and Financial Forecast input for Procurement Operations A220.
  • Implement efficiency gains while reducing the volume of Purchase Orders to meet the 5-year budget.
  • Ensure alignment with Quality Procurement on all initiatives related to compliance to Airbus Canada Quality Requirements and support when required the on-time completion of Supplier Approvals and Supplier Control Reviews.
  • Define the rate readiness strategy for Procurement Operations A220 in full alignment with Airbus Commercial including monitoring of supplier assessments (CCP, IPCA) and definition/implementation of CapEx requests for the supply chain.
  • Ensure Transfers of Work are properly monitored in SMP tool by the Procurement Operations commodities.
  • Ensure on-time implementation of Dossiers d'Action to support New Product Introduction initiatives when they impact the Supply Chain.
  • Act as a representative for Procurement Operations A220 on behalf of the Head of Procurement Operations when required.
  • Engage and develop the network of all A220 PO Supplier Officers, SCQM/SCQS and CFIs incl. development of skills and competences.
  • Lead Transformation initiatives within Procurement Operations on A220 promoting collaboration between all functions of the "Magic Square" (Supply Officer, SCQM, Conformance Manager, Strategic Buyer).
  • Ensure all A220 Supply Chain Quality initiatives are properly cascaded within PO and all Airbus wide PO initiatives are deployed on A220 Program (e.g. E2E Dynamic Containment & Prevention, ZeroM, etc.).
  • Support the change management process in Airbus Canada by aligning Procurement Operations Processes, Methods and Tools between Airbus Canada and Airbus Europe in full collaboration with PIX.
  • Interact with the Airbus Canada teams (Strategic Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, Logistics…) to help identifying issues, launching associated mitigation actions in order to reinforce processes, adherence and performance.
  • Lead the Risk Management for Procurement Operations A220 promoting an anticipative operating mode.

Your boarding pass:

  • Extensive experience in Supply Chain or Project Management
  • Commercial and contractual background and legal awareness
  • In depths know-how of material & parts and supplier strategies
  • Financial key indicators knowledge
  • Experience in delivering cost reduction initiatives
  • Knowledge in Lean and Project Management
  • Open minded with a positive and flexible approach to problem solving
  • Ability to drive improvement & innovation to deliver concrete results
  • Very good organizational skills
  • Ability to convince and influence others, and persevere despite challenges
  • Effective management of customer expectations and stakeholders
  • Pron in communication, especially with suppliers' representatives and internal stakeholders
  • Negotiation level in French and English
