We are looking for a Referent - Future Project and R&T Engineer to come onboard in our Engineering Integration & Chief Engineering Directorate in Giovanna's Future Projects and R&T team: a team of 10 collaborators!
Your mission:
- Assessing from a technical point of view new aircraft concepts or enhancement of ATR current platform and their potentials to improve operational performances and/or to reduce environmental impacts
- Evaluate new disruptive technologies for regional aircraft application and their impact when integrated at aircraft level
- Coordinate preliminary design studies in line with ATR product policy
- Analyze the requirements coming from the Program or/and Commercial in order to assess the impact at aircraft level and verify the suitability of different engineering solutions to match the given requirement and support Product policy studies.
- Contributing to ATR product policy by defining high level requirements for future ATR products (conventional and disruptive)
- Coordinating research joint studies with key industrial partners to develop the technologies and the competencies aimed to improve the aircraft conceptual design and components integration
- Pursuing the development of numerical simulation platforms to perform multidisciplinary optimizations for aircraft design and architecture
- Supporting the marketing department by providing engineering judgement and performing preliminary studies of potential competitors
- Presenting and reporting the progresses made on research projects and preliminary design activities to management, ATR internal customers and Public Institutions
About you:
- Field of study in aeronautical filed
- Strong knowledge in aerodynamics, flight performances, overall aircraft design and systems integration
- Significant experience (≥ 5 years) in preliminary aircraft design
- Good knowledge of programming languages (Python and Matlab)
- Good knowledge of preliminary aircraft design tools (e.g. PIANO, VSAERO, FAST, …)
- Knowledge in electrical systems and alternative fuels (SAF, Hydrogen) would be a plus
- Knowledge in hybrid electrical propulsion system architectures and integration
- Curious and autonomous with good communication skills
- Ability to think innovatively and propose disruptive solutions
- Good understanding of environmental challenges and emerging technologies in the aerospace sector
- Ability to work collaboratively, coordinate projects, and interact with industrial partners
- Fluent in English and French (Italian is a plus)
