Product Engineering Manager

As a Product Engineering Manager for the Foundry custom hardware team, you will play a pivotal role leading a team of Product Engineers in designing and onboarding advanced computer systems into production while delivering hardware and software support to our clients. You will provide guidance and oversight to a team of Product Engineers, including resource and task management. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team—including sales engineers, mechanical & regulatory engineers, systems verification engineers, and manufacturing engineering. You will help drive the development and deployment of next-generation edge AI, appliance, and embedded system solutions. Your efforts will directly impact key industry verticals such as transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, security, flight simulation, and media/live events.

Roles & Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the Foundry Custom Product Engineering team.

Manage workload and cross training plans for the Product Engineering Team.

Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.

Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.

Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve team velocity and quality.

Assume the role of a Sr. Product Engineer on top named accounts.

Manage quoting requests and collaborate with Product Engineers, Sales Engineers and external teams as necessary for complete and accurate quotes.

Collaborate with the Sales Engineering team to document and build hardware and software platforms designed by the Sales Engineering team.

Manage the revision control of product and Bill of Materials throughout the product's lifecycle.

Participate in the launch of new products, ensuring successful delivery to customers.

Diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware, and software compatibility issues in coordination with customers and vendors.

Conduct research on emerging technologies, including performance evaluations and benchmark testing.

Monitor vendor end-of-life (EOL) notices and engineering change notifications (ECNs), initiating actions to ensure uninterrupted production of your products.

Respond to and resolve advanced customer technical inquiries in a timely manner.

Mentor and provide guidance to Product Engineers to support team development.

Support production teams by addressing technical challenges and ensuring smooth operations.

Undertake assigned product management responsibilities, contributing to product strategy and execution.

Qualifications

Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, technical resources, and team members to deliver successful projects.

Proven ability to understand, gather, and document customer requirements.

Expertise in engineering disciplines and revision control, including engineering change management, product lifecycle management (PLM), and end-of-life (EOL) processes.

In-depth understanding of x86 and ARM computer architectures, server hardware components, and computer standards.

An understanding of edge AI accelerators, model frameworks, and AI inference for edge applications.

Knowledge of quality control and computer assembly methods.

Experience collaborating effectively with external vendors.

Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure.

Strong teamwork, leadership, negotiation, and conflict management abilities.

Maturity in leading a team of senior engineers.

Adaptability and resilience in dynamic environments.

Proven experience in risk management and new product introduction (NPI).

High level understanding of scripting and automation within Linux and Windows. (Bash / Python / PowerShell).

Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.

Network+ and Server+ certifications are a plus.
