We are currently looking for a Laboratory Support Intern to support the Applications Team in our UK Centre of Excellence in Cheadle. In this role, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of our laboratory . You'll be involved in a variety of tasks that keep the lab efficient and productive, while gaining exposure to cutting-edge analytical techniques such as LC/MS and GC/MS. This is a great opportunity for someone who is curious, eager to learn, and enjoys working in a collaborative, hands-on environment!

During the internship, you will have the opportunity to perform laboratory focused project in accordance with your university course requirements.

Responsibilities: • Order and maintain the inventory of laboratory consumables, reagents and equipment. • Order and manage the inventory of analytical instrumentation. • Maintenance and support of LC/MS, GC/MS and Spectroscopy instrumentation. • Create and manage purchase orders through the internal procurement tool. • Coordinate waste collection and handle general housekeeping. • Support shipment of instruments and customer samples. • Work with facilities managers and Workplace Services. • Carry out the annual inventory audit. • Support customer demos and help organise customer facing events

Qualifications

We are looking for a motivated individual with the following background: • Undertaking a degree in a scientific field. • Motivated self-starter with drive, energy, and enthusiasm to succeed. • Good team working skills.
