We are seeking a Calibration & Repair Service Manager to join our Splicers Equipment team in Duncan, SC. The Calibration & Repair Service Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of servicing, calibrating and repairing customer and in-house equipment, within established timelines and quality requirements. The incumbent is also responsible for qualifying, training and supporting all authorized service centers. In addition, this person will maintain proper control, documentation and calibration of test equipment used in support of service operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains complete ownership of the repair process, including evaluating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and turning around products within established timelines
  • Provides excellent customer service and support by answering questions and assisting customers, internal and external, in regards to equipment repairs
  • Supervises support personnel that assist in Repair
  • Shares knowledge and repair expertise within the organization through training and supporting in-house needs
  • Maintains the in-house calibration program
  • Prepares repair quotations, calibration reports and certificates related to assignments
  • Uses DMMs, DVMs, power supplies, o-scopes and frequency counters, to accurately and properly perform repairs and/or maintain equipment
  • Utilizes computer software applications such as databases, spreadsheets, and word processing to facilitate preparing and maintaining records and reports, as requested
  • Provides training to others, where applicable and upon request
  • Refurbishes used test equipment for resale
  • Coordinates with key OEM suppliers
  • Adheres to and promotes the environmental, health and safety policies of AFL

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Electronics, Electrical Technologies or related field, or equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years' experience in test equipment repair, hardware, and fiber optics
  • Experience leading a team of technicians and support staff
  • Experience providing excellent support to customers.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office and Oracle R12
  • Must possess working knowledge of splicing equipment and fiber optic test equipment including sources, meters, identifiers, OTDRs, and inspection tools
  • Experience working with SMT RoHS soldering
  • Experience working in ISO 9001 and 14001 environments, ideal
