Welder

This role focuses on welding steel enclosures that house diesel generators and diesel fuel oil supply tanks. You will perform layout, fitting, and MIG welding on mild steel while working from blueprints and shop drawings. The position requires strong fabrication skills, precise measurement, and the ability to contribute to high-quality, production-oriented work.

Responsibilities

• Perform layout, fitting, and MIG welding on mild steel components used for steel enclosures and diesel fuel oil supply tanks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and other technical documents to determine welding requirements and fabrication details.
• Use a tape measure accurately to lay out materials, verify dimensions, and ensure parts meet specifications.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment in a safe and efficient manner for production work.
• Fabricate and assemble components according to engineering and production requirements.
• Utilize basic hand and power tools to prepare, fit, and finish welded assemblies.
• Follow quality standards and perform visual checks on welds to ensure structural integrity and proper appearance.
• Work effectively in a manufacturing environment and collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
• Successfully complete and pass a MIG weld pressure test as part of the qualification process.

Essential Skills

• Over two years of experience in MIG welding.
• Proven experience in layout and fitting of steel components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings from day one.
• Strong tape measure reading and measurement skills.
• Basic understanding and safe use of hand and power tools.
• Proficiency in MIG welding on mild steel in a production environment.
• Capability to pass a MIG weld pressure test.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract to hire position based out of BATAVIA, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
