Welder Fitter - 1st Shift - 23 - 25/hr

Layout Fitter

The Layout Fitter is responsible for interpreting blueprints and weld symbols, using overhead cranes to position structural steel, cutting and grinding steel for fitting, tack welding steel into place, and occasionally performing full flux core welding on projects.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• Utilize overhead cranes to position structural steel accurately.
• Cut and grind steel for fitting purposes.
• Tack weld steel into place and perform full flux core welding as needed.
• Collaborate with welders and weld inspectors to ensure project deadlines are met.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in Structural Steel Layout/Fitting.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting weld symbols.
• Strong measuring skills and shop math proficiency.
• Experience with structural steel and welding techniques.
• Competency in using oxyacetylene torches.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
