Welder

The welder will be responsible for performing MIG and TIG welding to fabricate boxes for conveyor systems. This role may occasionally involve measuring and cutting steel as needed. The welder will perform setup and all-position welding on a diverse range of standard weldments and structures, adhering to code certifications, alignment, dimensional, and general inspection requirements. This position requires fitting and positioning weldments comprising multiple parts, using recognized procedures while selecting and varying techniques as necessary. The welder must work from drawings, possess extensive knowledge of welding techniques, and be capable of making their own setups. Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and plasma welding to produce items meeting quality standards is essential. The role also involves using inspection tools for quality checks, applying welding principles and techniques, and working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding to fabricate boxes for conveyor systems.
  • Measure and cut steel as needed.
  • Set up and execute all-position welding on various standard weldments and structures.
  • Ensure adherence to code certifications, alignment, dimensional, and general inspection requirements.
  • Fit and position weldments with multiple parts, using recognized procedures.
  • Work from drawings and apply knowledge of welding techniques.
  • Make own setups and use MIG, TIG, and plasma proficiently.
  • Conduct quality checks using inspection tools.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience with quality inspection and use of inspection tools.
  • Knowledge of welding principles and techniques.
  • Capability to work independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certified welder certification.
  • Ability to perform weld tests: Vertical down and up for MIG .045 and horizontal pass for TIG using 3/32 tungsten and 1/16 thick rod.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility, which is well-lit but not climate controlled. The position is for the 1st shift, operating from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the option for overtime usually an hour before shift start, totaling 45 hours a week. No weekend work is required.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
