Welder, 28+hr

Welder (3rd Shift Available) - Canton

We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team in Canton, OH. You will have the opportunity to work on either the first or the third shift from Sunday to Thursday, 7:00 PM to 4:30 AM. As a welder, you will be responsible for performing MIG welding, fitting, and fabrication on structural steel or stainless steel components, following blueprints to accurately fabricate parts.

Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG welding, fitting, and fabrication on structural steel and stainless steel parts.
• Follow blueprints to ensure accurate fitting and fabrication of parts.
• Execute welds up to 1/2 inch in thickness.
• Grind and prep parts for welding.
• Read a tape measure to cut parts to size.
• Utilize an overhead crane daily.
• Assist in cleaning the shop during downtime.

Essential Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of welding experience in manufacturing settings.
• Proficiency in MIG welding on structural metal.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Capability to pass MIG weld test performing vertical and horizontal welds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with material handling equipment such as cranes and tow motors.
• Competency in operating basic hand tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Basic understanding of different weld joints.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hours a day.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a small shop with many tenured employees, where flexibility and willingness to undertake various tasks are valued. You will experience a cold environment in winter and a hot one in summer. The facility is dimly lit, can be dirty, and loud, but is roomy, organized, and prioritizes safety. The job includes a mandatory 5-10 hours of overtime per week.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $24.25 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
