URGENTLY HIRING - Lathe Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to set up and operate Swiss turn style CNC lathe machines. The role involves performing tool changes, offsets, and adjustments on the Z and X axes for high-volume production parts. You will be responsible for loading and running the correct programs, conducting quality checks using calipers, micrometers, comparators, and go/no-go gauges, and ensuring work within tolerances of plus or minus one-tenth of a thousandth.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Swiss turn style CNC lathe machines.
• Perform tool changes and adjust offsets on Z and X axes.
• Conduct high-volume production requiring 0-5 setups daily.
• Load and run correct programs for production.
• Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, comparators, and go/no-go gauges.
• Ensure work within tolerances of plus or minus one-tenth of a thousandth.

Essential Skills

• Experience with Swiss turn CNC lathes.
• Ability to set up machines and perform 0-5 setups a day.
• Proficiency in using calipers and micrometers.
• Understanding of programming, including G&M codes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Stronger programming skills are beneficial due to minimal engineering support on the off shift.
• Experience with specific machine brands such as Star, Segami, and Torno is advantageous.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, climate-controlled, and well-lit facility with a wide variety of both old and new machining centers. The role is on the second shift, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM Monday to Thursday, and 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Sunday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.05 - $31.20/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
