Production Operator

We are seeking dedicated Production Operators for our 1st and 2nd swing shifts (7am-3pm / 3pm-11pm). Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, you will ensure the proper running and cleaning of production equipment for the safe manufacture of powder coatings at our sites. Operators may be placed in Grinding, Weigh Up, or Extrusion production areas.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of production assets and ensure they operate safely and in accordance with established procedures and industry best practices.
• Perform daily production, preventative maintenance, and process data collection as per procedures.
• Report safety, quality, or production process issues to the Team Leader or Shift Supervisor.
• Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
• Attend and contribute to meetings.
• Participate in investigations of HSE or quality issues.
• Engage in Continuous Improvement activities for HSE, Quality, and other programs.
• Intervene to stop work if conditions or behaviors are unsafe.
• Promote health, safety, and environmental regulations in compliance with corporate and local requirements.
• Perform other duties as required for success.

Essential Skills

• Production and Manufacturing experience.
• Quality control knowledge.
• General labor and assembly skills.
• Ability to operate machines and handle materials.
• Mechanical and safety awareness.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in a paint manufacturing facility preferred.
• Microsoft basic skills preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (2-3 years preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment

The work takes place on a climate-controlled manufacturing floor in teams of about 5 people per section. While operating older machinery, the area is kept clean with some dust in the air. The company has implemented safety precautions including temperature screenings, social distancing guidelines, and sanitizing procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
