Shipping and Receiving Clerk

As a Shipping Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments. You will manage customer inquiries, ensure accuracy in purchase orders and shipping documents, and make special shipping arrangements as necessary. Additionally, you will track and fix shipping errors, prepare domestic and international documentation, and ensure the quality of all services meets required standards. Your role will also involve helping to create processes that make the supply chain more efficient and communicating effectively through writing, speaking, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate transportation providers for prompt and proper movement of shipments.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and refer clients to the proper channels.
  • Review purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy.
  • Make special shipping arrangements as necessary.
  • Track and correct shipping errors.
  • Prepare domestic and international documentation, including commodity descriptions and HTS numbers.
  • Ensure the quality of services meets required standards.
  • Help create processes to improve supply chain efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in the logistics field, covering multiple areas such as warehousing or transportation.
  • Strong skills in inventory management, shipping and receiving, data entry, and logistics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions.
  • Advanced data analysis and data visualization skills.
  • Expertise in inventory management.
  • Ability to use computers, software, and technology for inventory and communication purposes.
  • Understanding of international business flow and documentation requirements.

Work Environment
