Service Technician

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for responding to both local and over-the-road service calls for car and truck washes. This role requires a good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. New hires will undergo training and spend the first 1-3 months shadowing a technician.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate relationships with current customers to enhance customer retention.
  • Provide personalized consultations to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any issues.
  • Operate forklifts, skid loaders, and pettibooms safely.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and installation of electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Communicate effectively with the Service Manager and peers regarding daily service and installation tasks.
  • Write invoices for services rendered and ensure parts are ordered if not available on-site.
  • Participate in warehouse duties, including receiving, inventorying, and shipping chemicals and parts.
  • Maintain and organize inventory in the provided work vehicle.
  • Ensure the work vehicle is clean and organized.
  • Keep track of receipts and be accountable for company credit card and gas card expenses.
  • Complete daily log sheets.
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time and occasionally lift 75 lbs or more.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in service, electrical, and mechanical work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency in using power tools and reading blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass an MVR check.
  • Experience in mechanical or electrical fields preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to retain information and willingness to learn.

Work Environment:

You will drive a company van with another technician to various job sites until you are fully trained. Upon completing your training, you will work independently on service tasks, while installations will involve working with a team of 3-4 technicians. The role includes rotating on-call duties with extra compensation for weekends and overtime.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, ND.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
