Service Technician

Service Technician - Shift Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM - Location: Vacaville, CA

As a Service Technician, you will perform repairs on mobile office trailers including framing and finish carpentry, electrical, flooring, plumbing, painting, and running gear. You will also engage in light carpentry, electrical work, and some HVAC tasks. No certifications are needed for these tasks. Your role will involve maintaining proper inventory levels of equipment, tools, and parts, ensuring a clean and organized work area, and upholding a safe work environment. Providing courteous customer service and explaining repairs and services to customers will also be part of your responsibilities. You will ensure trailers are ready for scheduled deliveries and perform service-related tasks as requested.

Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs to mobile office trailers including carpentry, electrical, flooring, plumbing, and painting.
• Engage in light carpentry, electrical work, and some HVAC tasks with no certification required.
• Maintain proper inventory levels of all equipment, tools, and parts needed for service tasks.
• Keep a clean and organized work area.
• Ensure a safe work environment and practice safe work habits per company policies.
• Provide courteous customer service and explain all repairs and services to customers.
• Ensure trailers are ready for scheduled delivery dates.
• Conduct service calls in branch territories as assigned.
• Attend bi-monthly safety meetings.
• Close-up multi-sectional units and ensure doors and windows are shut on idle fleet.
• Assist in ordering materials and unloading material deliveries.
• Operate forklifts and perform office maintenance and repair as assigned.
• Perform system checks and maintenance on HVAC systems as per company guidelines.
• Ensure routine maintenance is performed according to established schedules and procedures.

Essential Skills:

• Interest in construction and working with hand tools.
• Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC skills.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Good communication skills for dealing with customers and salespeople.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Forklift operation experience is a plus.

Work Environment:

Work in a clean and organized yard environment, focusing on one modular unit at a time. You will either work in a refurbished modular or the one holding tools. Production takes about 30-35 hours to complete a modular, aiming for one per week depending on client needs.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vacaville, CA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
