Service Technician

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for responding to local and some over-the-road service calls for car and truck washes. This position involves a substantial amount of mechanical and electrical work. New hires will receive training and spend the first 1-3 months shadowing a senior technician.

Responsibilities:

• Cultivate relationships with current customers to strengthen customer retention.
• Provide one-on-one consultations with customers to ensure complete satisfaction and resolution of any issues.
• Operate forklifts, skid loaders, and pettibooms with safety and awareness.
• Demonstrate proficient knowledge and skill level in troubleshooting and installation of electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Communicate with the Service Manager and peers on day-to-day service and installation duties.
• Write invoices for service work provided and ensure parts are ordered when necessary.
• Contribute to warehouse duties including receiving, inventorying, and shipping chemicals and parts.
• Maintain inventory and organization of the provided work vehicle.
• Keep all receipts and be accountable for company credit card and gas card expenses.
• Fill out daily log sheets.
• Travel 25% or more as required.
• Lift 75 lbs or more occasionally.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in service, electrical, mechanical, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and hydraulics.
• Experience in performing service and installation on car and truck wash systems.
• Knowledge of mechanics, electrical, and plumbing.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's License and ability to pass an MVR.
• Experience in Mechanical or Electrical fields is preferred.
• Ability to retain information effectively.
• Tools required: Pliers, Needle nose pliers, Side cutters, Tin snip, Philips and Flat head screwdrivers, Channel locks, Vise Grips, Allen Wrenches (standard/metric), Open end/box end wrenches (standard/metric), Socket set (standard/metric), Speed level, Wire cutters, Wire stripper, Crescent wrenches, Hammer, and other relevant tools.

Work Environment:

Candidates will drive a company van with another technician to various job sites until they are fully trained and able to work independently. Installations will be completed in teams of 3-4 technicians. The company provides a laptop, tablet, cell phone, service van, and credit card. Service Technicians rotate on-call duty one weekend per month, with compensation for extra hours.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, North Dakota.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
