Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector performs precise inspections of products and components using a variety of measurement tools and visual inspection techniques. This role ensures that all items meet established quality standards and comply with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), particularly within a medical device manufacturing environment. The Quality Inspector reads and interprets blueprints, conducts final inspections, and supports overall quality control and quality assurance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand product specifications and tolerances.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify defects, nonconformities, and cosmetic issues in products and components.
  • Carry out in-process, final, and quality check inspections to ensure products meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Document inspection results accurately and clearly in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) during all inspection activities to support regulatory compliance.
  • Support quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) processes by reporting nonconforming material and assisting with investigations as needed.
  • Verify that medical device products comply with specified standards and inspection criteria before release.
  • Maintain inspection tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to communicate inspection findings and contribute to continuous improvement of product quality.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient blueprint reading and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Hands-on experience using micrometers for accurate dimensional measurement.
  • Hands-on experience using calipers for precise measurement of components.
  • Ability to use gauges and other inspection tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Strong visual inspection skills to identify defects and nonconformities.
  • Practical knowledge of quality control and quality assurance principles.
  • Experience performing quality inspections, including final inspection and quality checks.
  • Working knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), particularly in a regulated environment such as medical devices.
  • Ability to accurately record, organize, and communicate inspection results.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience inspecting products in a medical device manufacturing environment.
  • QA inspection and QC processes.
  • Familiarity with visual inspection standards and defect classification.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all inspection tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to escalate quality issues appropriately.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple inspections and documentation requirements.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of City Of Industry, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
