Machine Operator

Assist with the setup and operation of tandem rolling mill machinery. This includes installation and adjustment of rolls, threading up, first piece inspection, welding, and general cleanup. Utilize precision measurement instruments and tape measure to ensure accuracy. Perform basic shop math calculations and set up and operate wire machines with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the setup and operation of tandem rolling mill machinery.
• Perform installation and adjustment of rolls, threading up, and first piece inspection.
• Conduct welding tasks and general cleanup.
• Utilize precision measurement instruments and tape measure.
• Perform basic shop math calculations.
• Set up and operate wire machines with minimum supervision.
• Change over equipment and ensure product quality.
• Make changes in prescribed operating conditions as necessary.
• Perform necessary tests and measurements to assure product meets specifications.
• Keep accurate product data and records.
• Correct or adjust machine malfunctions immediately.
• Report any major machine malfunctions to Supervisor.
• Continually inspect products while performing other duties.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist in other duties as directed.

Essential Skills:

• High school diploma or GED
• 6+ months of heavy manufacturing experience
• Ability to read measurements (tape measure/micrometers/calipers)
• Mechanically inclined
• Must be able to lift up to 60lbs throughout the shift

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Prefer machine operation experience (at least 6 months)
• Forklift experience

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.70 - $20.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
