Grain Fabricator And Foundation Crew Member

In this dynamic dual role, you will contribute to the movement and flow of grain through precise welding and fabrication tasks while managing a small crew. Your responsibilities will include welding components such as flange rings, spouts, transitions, augers, conveyors, and associated bracing and supports. You will also assemble conveyors, bucket elevators, and support structures according to blueprints. Occasionally, you will assist the foundation crew with concrete work, ensuring project deadlines are met. The role predominantly involves installation tasks, occupying 85% of your time, but requires flexibility to assist with foundational tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Weld components including flange rings, spouts, transitions, augers, and conveyors.
  • Assemble conveyors, bucket elevators, and support structures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to fabricate welding requirements.
  • Manage a small crew of 3-5 employees.
  • Assist the foundation crew with digging and concrete work when necessary.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in stick welding and fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience in construction and concrete work.
  • Team management skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in work tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in fabrication, stick welding, and blueprint reading.
  • Equipment operating experience.
  • Willingness to learn and absorb knowledge from others.
  • Safety consciousness in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience in industrial construction and crane operation is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience installing grain bins is beneficial.

Work Environment:

This role requires working outside on a construction site, often near other trades and companies, within a grain facility with large silos. The job involves exposure to all weather conditions, including summer heat, rain, and winter cold. The work radius is typically within 60 miles of the base location in Lebanon, Indiana. Safety dress code includes boots, jeans without holes, and high visibility shirts.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract to hire position based out of Lebanon, IN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
