Mechanical Assembler

As an Assembler, you will fabricate and assemble mechanical and electrical sub-systems including transformers, inductors, switches, and buss bars. You will be responsible for cutting, drilling, threading, and machining on metal and non-metal materials, while reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Additionally, you will perform water or air leak checks on cooling systems and brazed assemblies, insulate, tape, clean, and paint parts and assemblies to specification, wire electrical components in panels and cabinets following schematics and standard practices, cut out cabinet panels, and perform fit-up work for electrical enclosures. Moreover, you will install hoses and piping for water-cooled components and maintain clean and safe work areas, performing minor maintenance on tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble mechanical and electrical sub-systems.
• Perform cutting, drilling, threading, and machining on various materials.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Conduct water or air leak checks on cooling systems and brazed assemblies.
• Insulate, tape, clean, and paint parts and assemblies to specifications.
• Wire electrical components in panels and cabinets following schematics.
• Cut out cabinet panels and perform fit-up work for electrical enclosures.
• Install hoses and piping for water-cooled components.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience in machine building.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
• Proficiency in using a tape measure and basic math skills.
• Capability to lift 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work on 1st Shift.
• Ability to stand on feet for 8 consecutive hours.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Possession of own tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of 120VAC, 240VAC, 480VAC, 600VAC & 24V DC is advantageous.

Work Environment

This is a direct placement role within a large, heavy industrial environment focused on machine building. The shift runs from 6am to 2:30pm, with potential overtime extending until 3:30 or 4:30pm and occasional half-day Saturdays. The facility is bustling with activity, showcasing an overflow of work and parts, making it a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $58240.00/yr.
