Material Handler

The Material Handler will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the facility, including loading and unloading trucks using walkie riders and pallet jacks. This role is crucial in maintaining production efficiency, organizing the workspace, and upholding quality standards. The Material Handler will demonstrate adept troubleshooting skills and ensure the seamless delivery of materials to the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Unload and load trucks using walkie riders and pallet jacks.
• Deliver materials to the production floor efficiently.
• Analyze and estimate workload based on order sheets.
• Perform daily checks on delivered raw materials.
• Inspect and record equipment status, including cleaning and fluid checks.
• Conduct quality checks using microscopes, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and walkies.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure safety compliance.
• Prepare and manage documentation as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area following the 6S standard.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers both verbally and in writing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Support the implementation of processes and procedures to meet industry standards.
• Train others at the same or lower level within the functional area.

Essential Skills

• Experience in material handling, inventory, and packing.
• Proficiency in using RF scanners and pallet jacks.
• Capability in order picking, loading, and unloading.
• Experience with forklifts, including sit-down and reach trucks.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to adhere to safety protocols and company policies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in production and general labor.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes.
• Ability to work all scheduled shift hours.

Work Environment The role is based in a dynamic facility where you will utilize various mobile equipment such as forklifts and walkies. The work environment adheres to the 6S standard, ensuring a clean and safe workspace. Employees are expected to follow company rules and policies while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of De Soto, KS.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.70 - $20.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
